New place and holidays…

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

These last couple of weeks have been very interesting. “God save you from living interesting times” says an old chinese proverb… and the thing is that is so stressing…

When we left Manos Digitales to create Licuadora Studio, we didn’t have a physical “place”, and thanks to the infinite patience from Ivan’s wife Fanny we were admitted in their home with all our stuff and computers.

And even when we would have loved to stay there and keep enjoying Fanny’s cookies, it was clear that someday we would need to move out and let them live their lives alone. And finally the day came and we moved out !

So these last weeks we’ve been configuring the new place, a true team work involving all Licuadores… waxing floors, assembling and painting new furniture, moving fridge, buying a thousand things from brooms to DVI-VGA plugs… lots of things. Tired but happy, yesterday we had our first Beer Friday comfortably settled in the new studio. Soon we’ll post pictures and a short tour of the studio for all of you, stay tuned to Licuadora Studio for news.

In the other hand, I will take a well deserved holiday, so next two wekks I’ll be out of the world, most probably with no internet, so please excuse my absence and see you later !!

I took a break to gather all stuff I’ve been doing lately and finally put everything in ONE PLACE so people don’t have to read all my boring stuff to get a few scripts. Of course, you will miss all the excitement and fun of reading about my incredible adventures… ok, yeah I’m bored too.

Anyway, check the Download section and grab everything you need.

Animating a little bit…

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

At BlenderArtists.org there are animation contests like in many forums. I DON’T like competition in the strict sense of the word, but I do like challenges and I always take these opportunities to practice and learn new things.

The most interesting thing about these “contests” is that you can have feedback and criticism from other animators, which is priceless. Making an animation is a long and laborious process, and many times you can forget lots of tiny details that are to be fixed sooner or later, that’s why exposing to constant evaluation is so important.
